Huh?!?!

Very cool map! I'm glad we spoke Saturday and you mentioned your new route, etc... and now I can visualize what you were talking about.

So how are the new shoes? Do high-quality running shoes give blisters the first day out?

I'm in the process of buying new Nike's, (not that I'll be running too awfully much in my new condition) and I'm hoping a good pair will cut down on my knee and shin pain when I run. Lately, I've heard a lot about various aches and pains stemming from poorly supported feet. What do you think?

While running on the track at MU, I developed inflamed cartlidge under my kneecap that still flares up from time to time. Dr. said to exercise it. Wasn't that what I was doing?? And the shins always hurt after a few laps around the neighborhood.

Out of shape or bad shoes?

hmmmmmmm... Maybe I'll just forget it and eat ice cream on my yoga ball while barefoot.

N, That was was a Blamment (blog+spam+comment). Don't push a penny stock on my blog dude!

Anyway, I think that cushioned shoes and good support ARE important. I think that patience in getting fit again is even MORE important. It took me a long time to get everything toughened up to go longer. My head was there, my heart and lungs were there, but my soft tissue was not. A lot of ice, days off, and patience, and time got me to this point.

As for old knee injuries? My guess, with easy excercise with gradual build ups, you will never have that problem again.

You should think about heartrate training. You realize you should not be out of breath, right?
